FAQ

Got questions? We've got answers.

How do I pay by card?+
During sign-up, choose 'Pay by card'. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure checkout. We accept all major cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex). The fee is A$35 which covers Stripe's processing fee.
What if I want to pay cash?+
Choose 'Pay cash' during sign-up. You'll get a unique code (e.g. CASH-7K2X-9P). Bring A$25 and your code to the designated pick-up spot in Northern Beaches — details in your confirmation email. Once the organiser confirms your payment, you'll receive your access key by email.
When do I get access to make picks?+
For card payments: immediately after Stripe confirms. For cash payments: as soon as an organiser verifies you paid. You'll receive a confirmation email in both cases.
Can I change my picks?+
Yes, up to 1 minute before each match kicks off. Pre-tournament picks (champion, runner-up, semifinalists, top scorer) can be freely changed until the World Cup starts on June 11. Once the tournament kicks off, each pre-tournament pick you change gets reduced to 50% of its value (per pick, independently — so changing just the Top Scorer only affects that one).
What if I forget to pick a match?+
You get 0 points for that match. No picks = 0 pts. Make sure to keep up with the schedule!
How is the prize pool calculated?+
Most of the entry fees go to the prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. A small portion covers organiser costs (domain, hosting, payment fees, and any physical prizes). The exact prize amounts will be announced before the tournament starts, once we know how many players joined.
Can I get a refund?+
No refunds after June 1, 2026. Before that date, contact the organisers directly.
When are prizes paid out?+
After the Final on July 19, 2026. The leaderboard will be finalised within 24 hours and prizes distributed to the top 3 within one week.
What counts for knockout match scores?+
The score after 90 minutes (or extra time, if played). Penalty shootout goals do NOT count. In addition to predicting the score, you also need to pick which team advances.
Is this gambling?+
No. This is a community prediction pool between friends — like office sweep tickets. You're not wagering on outcomes with a bookmaker. We use 'pool' language, not 'betting' language.
